Day 5: December 13, 2025.

Topic: The Child Who Reigns Forever

Scripture: Isaiah 9:6–7: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Cross-Reference: Luke 1:32–33:“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

Reflection:
Isaiah’s prophecy paints a breathtaking portrait of the Messiah. He is a child born, yet a Son given; and a baby who bears the government upon His shoulders. The titles given to Him reveal the fullness of His nature: He is both human and divine, gentle yet sovereign, born yet eternal.

Every Christmas light and carol point to this eternal reality, that the baby in the manger is also the King on the throne. The world searches for stability, yet peace is not found in power or politics, but in the person of Christ. His rule is marked not by oppression, but by righteousness and grace. His kingdom brings peace that surpasses understanding.

This Christmas, may your heart rest in the government that never fails, the reign of Jesus Christ. The same Child who entered our world in humility will one day return in glory to make all things new.

Prayer
King Jesus, I honour You as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, and Prince of Peace. Rule in my heart and reign over every area of my life. Let Your peace govern my thoughts today and always. Amen.
