Day 6: December 14, 2025.

Topic: The Righteous Branch

Scripture: Jeremiah 23:5–6: “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In His days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which He will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Saviour.”

Cross-Reference: John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Reflection:
Jeremiah’s prophecy came during a time of deep national corruption and despair. Kings had failed, the people had strayed, and hope was dim. Yet in the midst of ruin, God promised a Righteous Branch from David’s line, a King who would reign with justice and righteousness.

Jesus fulfilled this promise perfectly. He is not a ruler who dominates but a Saviour who restores. His kingdom is not built on human strength, but divine righteousness. Just as a branch draws life from the vine, we draw righteousness from Him. In Christ, we are no longer defined by our failures, but by His perfection.

When you look at a withered branch in winter, remember even when life seems barren, God is growing something unseen. Out of the stump of broken humanity, Christ has blossomed, our everlasting righteousness.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are my Righteous Branch and my source of life. May Your justice and truth take root in my heart. Let my life bear the fruit of Your righteousness today. Amen.
