Mark 10:51–52 (NIV)
“‘What do you want me to do for you?’ Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, ‘Rabbi, I want to see.’
‘Go,’ said Jesus, ‘your faith has healed you.’ Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.”
Reflection:
Bartimaeus lived in darkness for years, but he refused to let his condition silence his cry for change. When he heard Jesus was near, he called out with bold faith. His request was clear. His desire was sincere. His faith was active.
Transformation came when he responded to Jesus with honesty and expectation. He asked for sight, and Jesus honored his faith. The moment his eyes opened, Bartimaeus chose to follow Jesus. Physical healing became spiritual transformation.
In the 21st century, many believers live with spiritual blindness. Distractions, fear, and unbelief cloud the heart. Jesus still asks the same question today. What do you want Him to do for you? Transformation starts when you bring your need to Him with clarity and faith.
Consider these questions:
- What areas of your life need spiritual sight today?
- Are you bringing your needs to Jesus with bold faith?
- What step can you take to follow Jesus more closely after He answers your prayer?
Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes to see Your truth. Remove every form of blindness that keeps me from walking in Your purpose. Strengthen my faith so I can follow You with clarity and obedience. Amen.
Takeaway:
Faith opens your eyes to God’s power and sets you on the path of transformation.
