Key Verse:
“Joseph found favour in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.” (Genesis 39:4, NIV)
Reflection:
Joseph’s journey reminds us that God’s favour can shine even in difficult circumstances. Though sold into slavery and far from home, Joseph carried the presence of God wherever he went, and that presence produced favour. His integrity and excellence caught Potiphar’s attention, and he was entrusted with great responsibility.
God’s favour does not always remove us from hardship; sometimes, it promotes us through hardship. Joseph’s faithfulness in serving well under unfavourable conditions prepared him for greater assignments ahead. Each step, from Potiphar’s house to the prison, was part of God’s plan to position him for the palace.
When we remain faithful, diligent, and honest where God has placed us, He causes others to recognize His favour upon our lives. Divine favour brings influence, trust, and open doors—often in places we least expect.
Application:
Be faithful in your current assignment, no matter how small or challenging it seems. Work as unto the Lord, not for human approval. God’s favour will cause your diligence to be noticed and your influence to grow.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the example of Joseph, whose faithfulness brought favour and promotion. Help me to serve with integrity and excellence wherever I am placed. Let Your presence go with me and cause my work to prosper. May Your favour open doors that lead to Your purpose for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declaration:
God’s favour promotes me beyond my circumstances and prepares me for His purpose.
