Key Verse:
“But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God.’” (Luke 1:30, NIV)
Reflection:
When the angel appeared to Mary, a young woman from a humble background, his words changed the course of her life forever: “You have found favour with God.” Divine favour often comes wrapped in divine purpose. For Mary, it meant being chosen and given the privilege and responsibility to carry the Son of God.
God’s favour is not always about comfort; sometimes, it’s about calling. It places you in a position where His glory can be revealed through your obedience. Mary’s favour brought both blessing and burden. She received joy and at the same time, her son, would be the perfect sacrifice to pay for humanities sins. Yet through her yielded heart, God’s plan of salvation unfolded.
Finding favour with God means He entrusts you with something greater than yourself. It may challenge your faith, stretch your courage, and set you apart, but it always leads to His glory and your growth.
Application:
When God’s favour singles you out for a unique purpose, respond like Mary: with humility, faith, and surrender. Don’t let fear silence your obedience. Trust that the same God who called you will empower you to fulfill His assignment.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your favour that calls me into Your purpose. Help me to respond with faith, not fear. Use my life, like Mary’s, as a vessel for Your glory. Strengthen me to carry out the assignments You’ve entrusted to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declaration:
I have found favour with God. His purpose for my life will be fulfilled through my obedience and faith.
