Key Verse:
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” (Luke 2:52, NIV)
Reflection:
Even Jesus, the Son of God, went through a process of growth: spiritually, mentally, physically, and relationally. This verse reminds us that maturity and favour develop over time through obedience, humility, and alignment with God’s will. True growth is holistic: wisdom refines our minds, stature strengthens our bodies, and favour connects us both with God and with others.
To grow in favour with God means cultivating a life that pleases Him and this is achieved through prayer, righteousness, and surrender. To grow in favour with man means demonstrating kindness, integrity, and humility that reflect God’s character to the world. Jesus modeled this perfect balance, showing us that divine favour is not just a heavenly concept but something that manifests tangibly in our daily lives.
As we walk with God, His favour shapes our decisions, opens doors, and gives us influence to impact others for His glory.
Application:
Commit to growing in all areas of your life: spiritually, intellectually, physically, and relationally. Ask God to help you develop wisdom and grace in every interaction so that His favour flows through you to others.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Jesus, who grew in wisdom and favour before You and before men. Help me to grow daily in Your grace, walking in wisdom and humility. Let Your favour rest upon my life so that I may glorify You and bless others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
