When the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and rushed into the crowd, shouting:
“Sirs, why are you doing these things? We are men just like you, bringing you good news: turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven, earth, the sea, and everything in them.” Acts 14:14-15.
As Christians, we are called to turn away from the empty and fleeting things of this world and turn toward the living God, the Creator of all things. In Acts 14, Barnabas and Paul urged the people who were worshiping false gods to abandon their idols and follow the true God. Today, we are reminded to heed this same call — to reject worldly vanities and focus on God’s eternal truth.
PRAYER:
Dear God, help us turn away from worldly vanities and draw closer to You, the living God. Strengthen our faith and help us trust in Your perfect plans. May we always seek You above all else, finding joy in Your love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
ALTAR CALL:
Surrender your life to Jesus Christ today.
