Topic: The Worship of the Wise
Scripture: Matthew 2:1–12: “… Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star when it rose and have come to worship Him…”
Cross-Reference: Psalm 72:11: “May all kings fall down before Him, all nations serve Him!”
Reflection:
The Magi journeyed across nations and deserts, guided only by a star and a promise. They came not merely to observe but to worship. Their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, symbolized who Jesus was and what He came to do: King, Priest, and Sacrifice.
The world seeks wisdom in knowledge, power, or prestige. But true wisdom bows before Jesus. The wise men remind us that worship often requires a journey. It is a pursuit that costs something. It may take time, sacrifice, and perseverance, but when you finally find Him, every step is worth it.
This Christmas, may we be like the Magi: seekers of truth, worshipers of the King, and givers of our best. The greatest gift we can bring is our surrendered hearts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are worthy of all my worship. Like the wise men, I come to bow before You and offer all that I am. Be the treasure of my life and the joy of my journey. Amen.
