Day 9: December 17, 2025.

Topic: Joseph’s Obedience

Scripture: Matthew 1:18–25 “When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife…”

Cross-Reference: James 1:22: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

Reflection:
Joseph’s story is one of quiet strength and humble obedience. When faced with confusion and social pressure, he chose to believe God’s word spoken through the angel. His obedience protected the promise and provided a covering for Mary and the Child.

Joseph teaches us that faith is not just about hearing; it’s about obeying even when we don’t understand. He could have followed reason or reputation, but he followed revelation. And through that act of trust, prophecy was fulfilled, “and they shall call His name Jesus.”

Joseph’s silent obedience reminds us that faithfulness often works behind the scenes. When you trust God’s Word above your own understanding, you become a vessel of divine purpose.

Prayer
Lord, help me to obey even when the path isn’t clear. Strengthen me to trust Your Word above my fears. Let my life reflect the quiet courage of Joseph. Amen.
